opis organizacji

NGO Parents was founded as a non-profit and independent association on July 22nd 2011. Our organization brings together parents/guardians with vision and initiative to bring about social change by promoting the rights and improving the living conditions of parents and children in Montenegro. NGO Parents currently gathers about 300 members, among them 26 active members who are involved in the most of the activities of the association. Total number of 10 persons were employed in the NGO Parents and its social enterprise, while 22 persons were hired on service contract, in accordance with the project activities. 159 young volunteers who are involved in various activities of the organization.
Active members represent the NGO's Assembly that reaches most of the decisions.
The basic goal of founding of the NGO Parents is achieving and improving rights of parents and their children in Montenegro, but also involving parents’ community in active changes and influencing those processes. We are working on achieving better living conditions for parents, children, families, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, employed mothers and fathers, through collaboration with education and health care institutions, organs of national and local administration and media.
In addition to periodic activities, NGO Parents continuously implement the following activities and services:
TOY LIBRARY AND DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER
The Toy Library and the Development Center is service where parents and guardians can get a set of free contents and services. They can rent some of the didactic toys for their children and return it after a certain period, similar to renting books in the library. Children, together with parents / guardians, can participate in free thematic workshops and lectures, moderated by volunteers experienced in different fields. In addition to free educational and creative workshops, our organization in the Toys and Development Center also organizes support for learning, as well as psychological and legal assistance for children and parents. Although primarily intended for children from socially endangered families, the Toy Library and the Development Center are open to all children of pre-school and school age from all over Montenegro.
PARENTING SUPPORT
NGO Parents in February 2017 launch the first National SOS Parenting line. It was also recognized as licensed service from Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare. SOS Parenting line serve as a support service for all parents in Montenegro, both in the part relating to the upbringing of the child, parental competence, improvement of communication with the child or a young person within the family, as well as on many other issues related to the protection of the child's needs, rights and responsibilities.
NGO Parents professional team was educated for implementation of the program Parenting for Lifelong Health which was developed in partnership with the World Health Organization and UNICEF. This program is intended to parents who want to improve communication and quality of relationships with the child, but also to solve the concrete challenges / problems when parenting is in question.
SINGLE PARENT FAMILIES
Support group for single parent families– 17 group meetings and workshops were held, which had as a goal strengthening of the group and support and assistance to single parents, and 67 parents turned to the Group for support and help through individual work.
NGO Parents was organizer of first and only festival of parenthood named Family Fest. A numerous of families every year attend the event and spent the day in nature enjoying in quality and very rich program (professional lectures, panel discussions and presentations held by experts from various fields and a huge number of fun and educational workshops and activities).
