Fondazione Francesca Rava (hereafter, FFR) has been operating since 2000 as a non-profit, and pursues the aims of social solidarity, social assistance and volunteering. FFR represents in Italy N.P.H. - Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos (Our Little Brothers), an international humanitarian organization, that since 1954 saves orphaned and abandoned children 9 Latin American countries (Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Bolivia and Peru). FFR also represents in Italy also Saint Luc Foundation of Haiti , which brings together many of the Haitian boys and girls who grew up in the N.P.H. House, and who remained to help their people, working alongside N.P.H. director in Haiti, Father Rick Frechette.

The purpose of FFR is to implement all forms of intervention aimed at supporting childhood and adolescence, through:
a) information about childhood , children's rights, non-discrimination, using any means of communication, including charity events and campaigns, meetings, conventions, and other events aimed at raising awareness among individuals, schools, universities, companies and broadly speaking the various social realities;
b) any kind of activity and initiative aimed at raising funds, including child sponsorship, to finance and carry out specific support projects for N.P.H. Homes and Hospitals, and other reception and assistance facilities for children and young people in need;
c) support for mothers and families;
d) dissemination of the culture of volunteering, training of volunteers, organization of short and long-term volunteering programmes, at N.P.H. Homes, schools, paediatric hospitals and partner institutions;
e) collaboration with other non-profit organizations, at national and international level, with similar purposes;
f) development of cooperation and international solidarity projects and programmes;
g) assistance, relief and protection to disaster victims.

FFR is recognized by the State, believes in the values ​​of efficiency in the use of resources (<5% of expenses) and in transparency: its budget is revised, accounting is analytical. The Foundation is independent from any political party, it counts on the help of private donors and corporate companies, and on the help of many volunteers who donate their time and their competences. Donations are project-linked, fundraising support projects with precise objectives, which the Foundation is committed to achieving in a short time for the benefit of children and in respect of donors.

FFR regular activities are:
- Child sponsorship for the children hosted and cared in N.P.H. Homes and Hospitals
- Fundraising campaigns to support projects in Haiti, where FFR is particularly involved with:
*St. Damien Hospital, the only free-access paediatric hospital in the poorest Country of the Carribbean Region and one of the poorest countries in the world (ranked 158 in 168 by OECD). FFR not only supports the running costs of the hospital, but is managing continuous training of the doctors and nurses and is developing a special programme of training/specialization on paediatric surgery for 2 young doctors. Partners of the training programme are the Haitian University of Notre Dame and the Italian Hospitals Vittore Buzzi in Milan, Gianna Gaslini in Genoa. FFR organizes up to 30 missions/year of doctors, surgeons, nurses to train the doctors in Haiti. All the personnel of St. Damien Hospital is Haitian
* Street Schools in the poorest slums of Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital city, and in the rural areas: 13.000 children can have a basic education and literacy and a hot meal every day
* Cancer Center in Haiti, with a special programme for prevention and care for Haitian women
* Fors Lakay, a reconstruction project after the earthquake of 2010
* Francisville - City of works, a professional and training center
- Emergency Recovery in Italy: FFR has been building 8 schools in Central Italy in the last 3 years, after the earthquake of 2016. FFR did the fundraising and the project management. FFR is currently building a Civic Center in Pieve Torina (MC) with a playground and a gym for children and young people

  • This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
