Περιγραφή της οργάνωσης

Bendruomeninis pagalbos vaikams centras (Community child support center or BPVC) is a budgetary institution of
Mažeikiai district municipality. In 2016 it was established after reorganization of Mazeikiai district orphanages and elderly
peoples’ home. It is a social services institution performing municipal delegated functions in the field of social services.
The main activity consists of an organized social services system. It helps the child and his / her family which are left
without parental care to become full members of society. Main activities are being provided by these departments:
1) The Children's department organizes and provides general and special social care / guardianship services for children
who have lost parental care for one or another reason.
2) The Children's crisis department provides comprehensive assistance to children and adolescents who, for whatever
reason, find themselves in a social risk and crisis situation.
3) The Guardianships center department ensures that current and future caregiver (s) and adoptive families and their
children have access to any needed assistance.
4) The Family support department eliminates or minimizes the reasons why a child is temporarily unable to live with their
biological family.
5) The Open youth space department provides young people aged 14-29 with a safe space to come and spend their
leisure time. There you can exercise, engage in arts, socialize, learn, share different information and ideas, build selfconfidence or just be there and do nothing. The space is open for all young people in Mazeikiai city and region.
