descrição da organização

The school was established on 1 July 2018 by merging two separate institutions, a higher and secondary medical school and a business academy, both located in Trutnov. The full name of the school in Czech is Vyšší odborná škola zdravotnická, Střední zdravotnická škola a Obchodní akademie, Trutnov.
The school employs 56 teachers and there are 520 students.
The medical school focuses on educating people for healthcare careers and fulfilling social needs. The medical part of the school (Vyšší odborná škola zdravotnická a Střední zdravotnická škola) offers education in two four-year study programs finished with school-leaving exams (Practical Nurse and Medical Lyceum) and one three-year study program (General Nurse Diploma).
The economic part of the school is solely focused on business education. It offers a four-year secondary education branch – Business academy.
The target group of our school are students between the age of 15 and 21.
The school provides other activities for its students; for example there are regular meetings of Researchers´ Club for talented students, Readers´ Club and Board Games Club.
The students, as well as the teachers, participate in volunteer projects in cooperation with Charita Trutnov (mainly on Tříkrálová sbírka “Three Kings´ Fund-Raising Campaign”), retirement home, hospital and with Riaps. The students co-operate with Riaps in organizing the annual Noc venku (A Night Out) event, which introduces the everyday problems of the homeless. Our students provide first aid at this event.
Students also participate in the nation-wide charity fund-raising campaigns such as Liga proti rakovině (cancer treatment), Bílá pastelka (sight problems) etc.
The boarding house, where many of our students spend their school week, organizes additional leisure time activities – field trips, school visits, discussion meetings with specialists from various fields (the police, fire fighters, etc.), sign language course and others.
The activities at our school do not aim only at our students, there is a variety of courses for the public; for example language courses, typing course and accounting course.
The school co-operates with the Unemployment Office in Trutnov – the school regularly participates in Týden vzdělávání dospělých event (the week where courses for the adults are introduced). We introduce the accredited courses for people who would like to acquire higher qualification in health care.
The school has implemented many projects under various programmes co-financed by the EU or with local funding (from the Ministry of Education or the regional authorities). The school is currently implementing four notable projects within the Erasmus+ programme (students´ and teachers´ internship, partnership of schools).
Our objective is to open the school to public even more and thus create a center for life-long learning with a wide variety of courses and accredited study programmes.
Because the school focuses on the medical field, our mission is to influence the public in the sphere of preventing risky behavior, supporting the disabled and socially disadvantaged people and charity.
The aim of the volunteer activities is to provide the young people with opportunities where they can help the ones in need, participate in finding solutions for problems in society and accept their role in creating more inclusive society. Thus they gain priceless experience which may bring an enormous personal growth.
Joining the European Solidarity Corps is an opportunity for the school not only to arrange the foreign volunteer programmes to our students, but also for the people from the region who are interested in participating. Our participation in the European Solidarity Corps will bring a broader offer of services for the public and thus the school will open up for the public.
Our school would send three people to participate in volunteer trainee programmes in one year.
The school would send the volunteers to participate in a long-term trainee programmes.
