Beschreibung der Einrichtung

Governorship of Erzurum is a Local Public Body which is responsible for the whole city of Erzurum. There are many governmental offices working under the organisation like Director of National Education, Director of National Health, Director of Sports, etc. The organisation is the representative of the central government in the rural area.

Our main aims are informing and raising awareness of the European Union and its educational programs; promoting self-fulfilment and personal development of young people through educational programs of the European Union and developing non-formal education, intercultural dialogue, international cooperation and active civil society. As well, we are focusing on:

1)To support young people in the active participation in the society.

2)To develop cooperation with young people and to provide conditions for the participation in the decision making process, through institutions, based on the needs of youth and in partnership with them.

3)To develop a system of disseminating information to youth about all the fields of their interest.

4)To provide conditions for attaining young people’s rights to equal opportunities, especially for underprivileged young people.

5)To instigate and to assess exceptional achievements of youth in all areas.

6)To improve the possibilities for leisure activities.

7)To develop an open, effective, efficient and fair system of formal and informal education, available to all the young people, in line with contemporary trends in the area of education, and in accordance with the educational context of Republic of Turkey.

8)To encourage all the possibilities for employment, self-employment and entrepreneurship of the young people.

9)To improve the safety of living conditions of the young people.

10)To take care and to improve the health of the young people, to sustain the risks of leading health problems and to develop a health insurance system adapted to the young people.

11)To empower youth to participate in activities and initiatives, which are in accordance with the basic views of the sustainable development and environmental protection.
