Περιγραφή της οργάνωσης

In the 2019/20 school year, there are 21 units of pupils, from 1st to 9th grade, in the Ivan Skvarča Elementary School. The school has two branches in Čemšenik and Podkum. The school is attended by 552 pupils, taught by 57 teachers. Both the main school and the two branches are closely linked to the local community. Pupils and teachers are actively involved in various projects of the local community and are involved with organizing and co-creating various events within many different organizations of the Zagorje ob Savi municipality. The vision of the Ivan Skvarča Primary School is to provide an adequate level of knowledge, and a sense of security and satisfaction for all participants through quality educational work. In order to achieve this, the school is involved in various projects and takes care of the continuous personal and professional development of teachers.

In the years 2013 - 2017 they were included in the project Ethics and values in Primary School. Since 2009 the school has the title of a Cultural School, and since 2011 it has been included in the project Slovenian Network of Healthy Schools. After being educated in the Erasmus + program in the Netherlands in 2017, they are providing integrated English teaching (For CLIL in action) in a variety of subjects and are participating in the RaP (Movement, Health and Psychophysical Development of Children) project. The school received a title of Eco school to raise awareness of the importance of coexistence with nature, with all these activities seeking to influence the individual's overall environmental awareness and responsible attitude to nature for the sustainable development of the local and wider environment.

The school participates in national and international projects and training under Erasmus +, the European Solidarity Unit and other programs.
