Volyn Youth Center, simply put, aims to make youth stronger. We work with high school and university students, acting as an open space for the work, recreation and development of Volyn youth organizations based on the principles of accessibility and shared responsibility. Our center is one of the first examples of reforming state youth policy through cooperation between organization and hub based work. Throughout the year, the Volyn Youth Center conducts leadership programs: training, workshops, seminars, educational programs ("Active Citizens" from the British Council in Ukraine, "Youth Worker", "Explore / sion" and others). We also have an intellectual and board games club and the Rock N Roll Mafia mafia (who meet twice weekly to play the game Mafia). On top of this, we have two English speaking clubs weekly run by Peace Corps Volunteers that are free of charge. The Center provides a place for meetings, workshops, trainings, presentations and work on a 24/7 schedule. We host a number of other local organizations and any events planned by the center are free of charge. This is a safe place where youth can attend different meetings to improve their confidence, leadership, and active citizenship competencies while making new friends and building relationships and contact with our dedicated workers. In the year 2019, we hosted over 800 events, most planned and/or facilitated by youth. This center is vital for youth development in Lutsk allowing them to learn and practice soft skills, responsibility, and a number of other valuable skills. Our center runs fully based on social donation and thanks to our generous partners. Many of our trainings are done with help of grant funding, but our Club of Social Investors keeps the Volyn Youth Center standing and running.
