Περιγραφή της οργάνωσης

Critical Education Association was founded in 2009 by academics and students of the University of Wroclaw. We aimed for social change by education, research and street working and creating “spaces for beauty” – by culture. We combine academic knowledge rooted in Critical Education Theory with down to earth, every day work with groups with different
capital. We are focused on social integration and the main method as broad as it may sound is a meeting with the Other. We create such educational occasions in the projects such as: Children’s Country Museams (where kids from 12 villages collected the artifacts and stories to open up their own little museums visited museums in Wroclaw and worked with
animators “from the city”. We have a small childrens orchestra with kids from advantaged families in the local center but they give concerts for parents in the Homless Center. We learn sign language from kids from the School for kids with hearing difficulties and knitting and cooking from elderly ladies from the urban spaces under revitalization processes.
Respect for the human being and the openness in dialog and fun of being together and doing crazy things (like a concert in former industrial mill) is our idea of best work. We work cross generation, cross class, we work with kids, with Ukrainian migrants, with people with hearing difficulties, we work with them not for them. Schedule of activities in local center can be found on FB, at the moment (MArch 2020) we are also running 5 different projects (Cyrk w mig, Kantata Krosien, Cztery Pory Roku (Korpus solidarnosci), von Holtei -
apomniany przyjaciel Polski, Opowieści kamienic). We are a partner in several cross cultural projects and do consulting with the kids and reports for Municipality of Wroclaw.
