The Maison de l'Europe (MdE) Angers & Maine-et-Loire - Europe Direct offers information sessions about the European
Union to different audiences and organizes events to promote better knowledge of the cultural, economic and social
aspects of the EU member states.
As place of exchange and debate, the MdE 49 initiates and coordinates actions in Europe´s favour in the area Maine and
Loire. It is indeed informing the general public and the organisation of various events that European identity comes to life.
Its actions are carried out through four main lines of work : pedagogy, culture, debate and the MdE is also a resource
centre.
Since its creation, the association has been developing partnerships with schools to inform young people about the
impact of Europe and existing mobility opportunities. At the moment, our main target is the young audience.
The MdE Angers & Maine-and-Loire is an association according to the French law 1901 recognized of general interest,
approved Association de Jeunesse et d'éducation Populaire (Association of Youth and Popular Education). Also, like the
other 37 French Maisons de l´Europe, the MdE is registered as Association éducative complémentaire de l’enseignement
public (Complementary Educational Association of Public Education) and has been awarded the Europe Direct label in
2018 by the European Commission.
