Weltblick: Fairer Handel, Bildung, Projekte e.V.

We are a non-profit organisation with about 25 members, who are voluntary working for our organisation. There are also two members, who get paid for their work as coordinator and for accounting. All members are of different age and have different professions. There are three different focus areas in our work:
1. We keep a Fairtrade-Shop where we sell handicraft, jewellery, textiles, tea, coffee, chocolate and many other Fairtrade-products from all over the world. With our Fairtrade-Shop we create an alternative to conventional commercial practices, and we draw attention to unfair structures of the global market.
2. The second part is education for sustainable development and Global Learning. We organise public events like talks, discussions or film screenings. We show exhibitions in our ‘Bildungsraum’ (Education-Room) and conduct activities like signature campaigns and street actions. Furthermore, we work together with schools and other education-institutions in Greifswald and take part in events like Weltladen-Tag (Fairtrade-Shop-Day), Interkulturelle Woche (intercultural week), Kulturnacht (culture night) and many others. With our activities we want to address all different age groups and try to put topics like climate justice, sustainable development and Fairtrade in public perception.
3. The third part of our organisation is our partner-community in Mata de Pina in El Salvador. Since almost 30 years, we conduct a partnership-program with mutual exchange and support. With earnings from our Fairtrade-Shop, we can support structures of healthcare and education in our partner-community.
