Social Welfare Home (Dom Pomocy Społecznej) in Sopot is intended for 83 elderly and chronically somatically ill people from the city of Sopot. We are an organizational unit of the city of Sopot.
We look after and nurture people who are unable to function independently due to their age, illness or disability for 24 hours. The house and its surroundings are adapted to the needs of the disabled and have no architectural barriers.

We employ over 70 employees of various specializations. These are therapists, social workers, psychologists, speech therapist, nurses, physiotherapists and many others. In addition, willing volunteers come to help.

Our activity is divided into the following departments:
1. Therapeutic and care department
The department provides 24/7 care and assistance in basic life activities (e.g. feeding, cleaning).
Additionally, we provide our carres with:
- daily activities - gymnastics, press review, music, games, crossword puzzles, memory exercises, meetings with psychologist and classes with a speech therapist;
- participation in the catholic church ceremonies;
- participation in cultural and special events (e.g. Grandma and Grandpa's Day, Valentine's Day, Independence Day, Warsaw Uprising Anniversary, Day of the Sick, etc.);
- participation in excursions (parks, museums);
- shopping once a week;
- hairdresser services twice a month;
- podiatrist once a month.

2. Medical and rehabilitation department
The department provides 24-hour nursing and physiotherapy care for residents of our home, participants of the Day Residence Center and employees of our facility on the orders of a doctor. Physiotherapists also conduct general development gymnastics dedicated to individual needs.

3. Nutrition Department
The Nutrition Department prepares meals for residents in accordance with the principles of nutritional hygiene and the diet recommended by doctors.

4. Administrative Department
The employees of the department deal with technical supervision over the facility, repairs, cleaning, purchases and security. They make sure that the House is safe for residents and well-stocked.

5. Daily Residence House
It is a friendly place for seniors and disabled residents of Sopot. The facility is open from Monday to Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

The offer of activities: physiotherapy, gymnastics, rehabilitation treatments, memory exercises, music therapy, occupational therapy, integration meetings, participation in the cultural life of the Tri-City, trips, as well as a hot meal allow seniors to spend time with us very nice and efficiently.

6. Volunteering at the Social Welfare Home in Sopot
Volunteering in our Home is managed by the Volunteer Coordinator. Our Volunteers are people of different ages (pupils, students, adults and seniors) who are involved in the following activities:
- Recreational / accompanying volunteering - help during therapeutic activities, walking together, reading, talking, playing board games, dominoes, etc.
- administration volunteering - little repairs, painting, cleaning works in the garden.
- Adults and trained people can engage in caring volunteering - support in the care of elderly people who are not independent, e.g. help in dressing, serving meals, support while eating.

7. Sopot Senior Center
Among our structure we also run the Sopot Senior Citizens' Center. It organizes activities that encourage seniors to be physically active. We encourage them to participate in educational workshops designed for seniors, their carers and families. The Sopot Senior Center also hosts numerous meetings of senior groups, such as the Photographers' Club or the Bridges Club.

We also organize:
- gymnastic classes (exercises for seniors);
- meetings of the Pensioners', People with Disabilities Club;
- educational meetings for carers and families of people suffering from dementia;
- educational workshops for caregivers and families on caring for a bedridden person at home.
