1st of February 2018 started operating Jõgeva Parish Youth Center that is institution managed by Jõgeva Parish Government. Youth Center aim is to create safe environment for youngsters so their free time is activly planned in a way where their personal development is supported to help them become active participates in society.
Jõgeva Parish Youth Center operates on the principle of open youth work: everyone is welcommed no matter their beliefs, abilities, skills, knowlege or financial opportunities.
Jõgeva Parish Youth Center includes 9 different youth centers in our parish, in every center there is one employer (youth worker) who is there for regional youngsters daily – help them implement ideas, listens and advises them, supports and spends time and ogranizes activities together with youngsters. Youngsters can spend their free time in youth centers as they wish, it is possible to play board games, computer games and Playstation, play pool, table tennis, listen to music, watch movies, interact with friends and youth worker, study, cook or participate and organize different events. They have also opportunity to participate in various extracurricular education like cooking, crafting, hiking, robotics, clay, etc. Few times in a year all the youth centers have trips or events together for example visit theater, adventure park, etc. At summer time we have craft camp in our parish.
Jõgeva Parish Youth Center co-operates with local organizations and from time to time we participate as volunteers in community events – help to organize events, workshops, sports competitions etc. In addition Jõgeva Parish Youth Center is Eurodesk partner which means we pay extra attention introducing international opportunities for our local young people.
