There are almost 600 children in our kindergarten and school complex. The complex is divided for two separate buildings- one for kindergarten and one for school- located in the green area of our city. Younger children, aged 3 to 6, attend to the kindergarten and are taught by 11 early education teachers in 6 different groups, supported by 11 non-pedagogical employees. Everyday the children take part in didactic classes and other activities, like music, art, sport, dance, robotics and spend time together, creating relations and social skills. Older children, aged 7 to 15 continue their education at school, divided for 19 classes, according to their age, under 66 subject teachers, with assistance of other staff members like school counselor and psychologist. The students have an opportunity to learn in bilingual classes (with English language) and in classes with German-language program according to the long-term partnership with Max Ernst Gesamtschule from Cologne. Our priority is to create safe and supportive environment for children to grow, learn and develop. We do our best to provide them a good space for comprehensive development, enlarging skills, finding their passions, internal strength and self esteem. We deeply believe in importance of creating good habits from early age therefore our children take part in many ecological project and workshops to establish their sense of responsibility for our planet. We teach our students empathy and respect, care for others as well as health promoting behaviors. Our educational activities are conducted in a spirit of unity, inclusion and understanding. We cooperate with local organizations, like Senior’s House, library, municipal police, Eco-center, local development center, National Forum of Music and many more. We are happy to have and use a big, beautiful garden with playground and football pitch, where we love to spend time and discover the natural world. We would like to invite three volunteers- one for school and two for kindergarten with the possibility of taking up the activities in both places. In our work we like to use experience- based methods. We remember that- as the patron of our school, Zbigniew Herbert said- “You always need to swim against the tide to get to the source”.
