INTRODUCTION

Soy Mamut is a youth-targeted non profit socio-cultural association, based in the Canary Islands, which develops projects and activities in a range of social-related fields such as culture, leisure, non-formal education and social innovation, to address societal challenges within the region.

Volunteering constitutes one of our main lines of action, being a certified volunteer agency with more than 10 years of experience in the development of solidary activities involving young people, social organizations and public institutions.

In this sense, we have our own volunteering platform (Huella Positiva) which puts in contact regional NGOs seeking for volunteers, and young people willing to get involved in social projects, providing counseling and training to both organizations and participants with the goal of contributing to the generation of high quality volunteering opportunities.

We do also have some consolidated volunteering initiatives such as Ruta 7 (a transformative volunteering-based and youth-targeted travel experience) which has been recognized as one of Spain’s most innovative projects of its kind by Fundación Telefónica (2018) and in which over 350 university students have already participated.
