Semente Compostela forms part of a non-profit social initiative, being a place of transformative pedagogy that understands the school as an integral part of society; we aim to serve the interests of the people by ensuring a democratic teaching and learning process and by making it possible for children to be free and critical. Semente is a kindergarten and primary school based on the principles of coeducation, secularism, assemblyism, interaction with nature, respect to children’s self-regulation, gender equality and interculturality.

We are a plurilingual educational community. Galician is the language of our community, we promote its acquisition, conversation, and consolidation. We stand up for the international nature of our own language, which is an undeniable part of our school. At the same time, we encourage our children to respect our intercultural society and people from other cultures. We work with a constructivist approach, in an international and asymmetric way, through which children gain autonomy in their knowledge and critical capacity using multilingualism as a tool to reach other realities.

Being a space of creativity and innovation, we want to help the Semente model continue to be implanted in the rest of the territory to create respectful, critical and multilingual people.

At the moment, there are 30 kids in Kindergarten school and 52 kids in Primary School. We are 7 educators total, 4 in Primary School and 3 in Kindergarten.
