Primary school Majda Vrhovnik has got 520 pupils, from 6 to 15 years old. The school is situated the in center of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The vision of the school is »With mutual respect for satisfied pupils, teachers and parents.«
Pupils can participate in competitions from knowledge, sport competitions, creative tenderings in context of regular class and they are also making research assignments. There are clubs of musical and art creativity at school, from field of logic, robotics, infomation science and so on. Pupils can join scouts or diverse sport clubs. They can go to different camps, for example for healthy life, for gifted pupils, to open-air school, on the swimming course, on the ski field day.
Teachers aspire, that they organise usual class that way, that all pupils have possibility to accept additional tasks and to take part in activities, that are encouraging creativity and production of additional knowledge powerfully. Teachers also pay attention to pupils, that have special needs in education because of specific didactic problems, particularly, that they have be equivalent.
The course starts in September to the end of June. The one week vacation are at the end of October, at a Christmas, in February and in the beginning of May. Class is starting at 08:20, school activities go on until 16:30.
We try to create school climate, where pupils consider many possibilities socializing and creativity.
