Beschreibung der Einrichtung

The Foundation for Research in Ethology and Biodiversity (FIEB) is a non-profit entity whose main objectives are to support and promote research projects that collaborate and encourage the conservation of endangered wildlife species and the biodiversity restoration.

FIEB has been working for 10 years with volunteers who have participated in all the projects that are developed in the foundation. The projects developed are framed within its four fundamental lines of action:

- Conservation of biodiversity: throw the participation in the National Strategy for the conservation of the European Mink, being the largest Center for the Breeding and Study in Captivity of the European Mink in the national territory, in addition to collaborating with public administrations in the coordination of its ex situ conservation.
- Fight against wildlife trafficking: the foundation has a CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) Rescue Center in which different species of birds, reptiles and small mammals seized within the CITES agreement.
- Ecological restoration: we work on the recovery of degraded ecosystems through actions such as reforestation and the creation of ponds.
- Basic research: epidemiological study of the Moorish tortoise and ethological studies. In addition, the foundation helps in the training of students (Degree, Master, tech courses) and people interested in the conservation of biodiversity through its internship and volunteer.
