Association "akustikUm" Muzička omladina JMBH is an youth organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina working in the field of
youth activism using music as a tool to bring young people together from various backgrounds and promote peace,
reconciliation and human rights. Our main project is an international youth orchestra BalsiKa that exist now for more than 13 years and where many generations have grown and many stayed in the association or were inspired for their own work in education and culture. In Balsika we promote peer to peer learning and have no limitations for the background of the participants.We are a legal representative and promotor of the programs of JMI Jeunesses musicales International in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our organisation has participated as a partner in various projects with a focus on gender equality, vulnerable social categories and educational trainings with partner organisations from France and Italy. Our Ethno project gathers every summer many young people from all over the globe in an exciting youth exchange that promotes building bridges through the universal language of music. In our other more local, but no less important, projects we promote girl empowerment - Girls rock and workshops for children and youth with disability. We also organize in a cooperation with local educational and cultural institutions a Music festival called Omnimusica that gathers music techers, students and listeners in seminaries, workshops and concerts.
