Youth Rights & Citizenship Initiative (YRCI Albania) is a newly established, active NGO working towards the empowerment of youth in Albania especially those coming from marginalized, targeting a age group from 13 to 29 years old, ranging from secondary schools, high schools and universities. It is our goal to empower youth in such a way that they are knowledgeable as well as active and creative members of society, serving in various aspects of society. By providing platforms for advocacy and civic engagement, we encourage and offer opportunities for young individuals to learn about and be actively involved in civic duties. We promote exchange programs, which are aimed at appreciating youth’s diversities by sharing cultures, promoting international understanding, and creating relationships across borders. Our programs facilitating capacity-building help in enhancing our youths’ project management skills, leadership, and entrepreneurship improving their ability to implement their ideas. There is also a focus on health and well-being, through engaging activities which nourish resilience and harmony as core values needed for community participation. Due to our belief in equity, we are also focused on addressing the issues of disadvantaged communities in the society and equipping them to engage in risk-sensitive interventions and policy development for social change.
