Opis organizacji

Established on December 22, 2000, as the Turkish Sports Federation for the Mentally Disabled, our organization was granted administrative and financial autonomy in 2006 and renamed the Turkish Special Athletes Sports Federation (TOSSFED) in 2009. We aim to empower children, youth, and adults with Down syndrome, autism, and intellectual disabilities through sports, helping them integrate into society and build resilience.
TOSSFED forms National Teams from top athletes selected through provincial and national championships, representing Turkey in prestigious global events like the European and World Championships, Global Games, Trisome Games, and IPC Paralympic Games.
We depend on a vast network of young volunteers for our numerous national and international events. However, the constant need for more qualified volunteers challenges us, necessitating comprehensive training programs.
With 1,679 volunteer coaches across 81 provinces, TOSSFED supports over 10,000 athletes. We collaborate with the Ministry of National Education, ensuring more individuals access sports opportunities in special education schools. TOSSFED is also recognized within VIRTUS, the global federation for special athletes.
We seek the Quality Label to professionalize our volunteer network, enhance our training programs, and maintain the highest standards of support for our athletes. This label will help us strengthen our institutional capacity, foster international collaborations, and create a more inclusive.
