Sikanamente, an Association of Social Promotion (A.P.S.), was born in 2017 from the enthusiasm of a group of friends connected with the territory of the Sicani mountains who had the desire to enhance rural Sicily and counter depopulation. Some of them, after studying or working outside, decided to create a positive impact on the community. The core of activities is the Sikanamente community center of Prizzi, a coworking space used for cultural, social and educational events. Within the association is also managed a structure for pilgrims and travellers along historical paths like the MVF and the Itinerarium Rosaliae, called C.A.O.S. For years, it has operated as Arci Club, collaborating with local networks and institutions. Sikanamente promotes sustainable tourism, hiking, and cultural walks to highlight the value of the local territory, strengthening the bond between residents, the environment, and the landscape. Anti-fascism and anti-mafia values are fundamental to its initiatives, which focus on social inclusion, environmental sustainability, and circular economy. The association builds networks at both local and international levels, taking part in the Erasmus+ program and working with public and private entities to encourage cultural exchange and youth training. Thanks to the dedication of its members, the association contributes to the rediscovery of an authentic and vibrant Sicily.
