When committed Turkish parents and academics came together years ago and founded the “International Education and
Environment Association” (IBUV e.V.), the initial focus was on personal interests: the founding members wanted to support
and encourage their own children in their everyday school and social lives in order to pave the way for their professional and
social future.
A lot has happened since these beginnings: The “Internationaler Bildungs- und Umweltverein e.V.” institution has been in
existence since 1995, first on Roonstrasse and from 1996 - 2012 in the Martin Luther district. Over time, the association has
established itself as a meeting place for activities in the field of education and upbringing. At the beginning of 2012, the
association moved to its new premises in the pedestrian zone at Weststraße 36. The association then moved to Weststraße
40 in 2017.
The primary goal is to experience and learn together; cultural origin, religious beliefs or mentality are not decisive for
possible participation in various events of the International Education and Environment Association. It is an association from
Hamm for Hamm.
