Erasmus Student Network Czech Republic (ESN CZ) is a member of ESN International, one of Europe's largest non-profit student volunteer associations is built on the values of 'students helping students,' unity in diversity, and a shared love for Europe as an area of peace and cultural exchange. As part of this network, ESN CZ is dedicated to supporting and developing student exchange, facilitating the social and cultural integration of international students into Czech society, providing an intercultural experience for all students, including those who cannot go abroad ("internationalisation at home") and equipping our volunteers with key competencies for personal and professional development. Through our 20 local sections across 12 Czech cities, our volunteers directly assist approximately 11,000 international students each year. Our activities include: Student Support such as Organising orientation weeks, buddy programmes, and cultural & social events to ensure a meaningful stay, Volunteer Development such as Delivering a structured national cycle of trainings (Local Boards Training, Newbies Event, Community Meetings) to build capacity in leadership, project management, and teamwork, Advocacy&Promotion such as Representing student interests and promoting inclusive mobility opportunities like Erasmus+. Our work focuses on two main groups: international students, the direct beneficiaries, and young volunteers, who develop essential skills through non-formal education.
