The Women and Democracy Foundation (KADEM) is a civil society organisation based in Türkiye that advocates for gender justice, women’s empowerment, and civic participation. Established in 2013, KADEM aims to strengthen the role of women in social, economic, cultural, and political life while promoting justice, human rights, and active citizenship. With a national network of representative offices, KADEM carries out diverse activities including public policy research, advocacy campaigns, awareness-raising events, educational seminars, and EU-funded projects. The organisation places particular emphasis on youth engagement and intergenerational solidarity. It supports young women’s leadership, entrepreneurship, and participation in civil society through targeted training, mentoring, and volunteering opportunities. KADEM also cooperates with international institutions to exchange good practices and build inclusive discourse on civic values. Its target groups include women of all ages, young people, educators, policy makers, and vulnerable communities. KADEM’s work is grounded in the belief that empowering women and youth is essential for building resilient, inclusive, and civic societies.
