Tantaka is the solidarity time bank of the University of Navarra community of students, academics and administrative staff. It is the basque language word for drop by drop. We all have some time to change things and our goal has always been to put the time of volunteers at the service of the needs of society in our campuses in Pamplona, San Sebastian and Madrid. Solidarity is at the core of the identity and vision of service to society of the University of Navarra. In 2012 Tantaka arose as a service to accommodate and channel the solidarity initiatives started by "Universitarios por la Ayuda Social", in order to encourage and support students willing to make a difference, acting as a bridge that connects volunteers with organizations that require their assistance. Currently Tantaka is involved in our local community, as well as national and international projects. Tantaka also provides a space for dialogue, exchange of experiences, education and outreach activities in different aspects related to solidarity. We organize courses, conferences and host temporary exhibitions in order to raise awareness on social needs, to inform on international development projects, to promote the better understanding of disabilities and contribute to social inclusion and to prepare for both local and international volunteering activities and development projects. We also give advice and support to student initiatives of local and international cooperation and student-led solidarity campaigns.
