Gislaved Municipality’s Youth and Culture Services bring together municipal initiatives that empower young people through creativity, participation, social engagement, and non-formal learning. The organisation includes youth centers, libraries, Culture house, and Gnistan, an LGBTQIA+ meeting place, forming a network that fosters inclusion, empowerment, and community engagement. Our mission is to strengthen youth participation, promote social cohesion, and highlight young people’s skills to enhance future opportunities. We aim to create structured volunteering opportunities where young people contribute to the community while developing skills through non-formal learning and youth-led initiatives. Main activities include, supporting youths in their daily life, cultural and creative workshops, library support promoting learning and inclusion, leisure and social projects, and Gnistan as a safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth. Target group: all children and young people in Gislaved Municipality. Activities are mainly local but also involve regional and international collaborations with youth organisations and libraries. As a host, we provide meaningful, inclusive, and educational volunteering experiences that foster democratic participation, solidarity, and stronger communities.
