The Private Agricultural High School Meynes – Gard is a non-profit private agricultural education institution located in the south of France, near Nîmes and the Pont du Gard. It welcomes 225 learners aged 14 to 20, including 150 boarding students, enrolled in specialised and relatively rare vocational training programmes, particularly in agricultural machinery operation and maintenance, as well as a Vocational Baccalaureate focused on the management of breeding and boarding activities in the canine and feline sector. The school benefits from on-site agricultural land and a kennel, providing learners with a practical learning environment that supports the acquisition of professional skills through real-life situations and experiential learning. The institution operates on a human-scale organisational model, with 43 staff members, including 15 teachers, who are fully committed to the educational, pedagogical and personal support of young people. The school also delivers adult vocational training, notably a Professional Certificate (BP) in Canine Education, welcoming approximately 50 adult trainees each year. The school’s educational project aims to foster the development of sustainable professional, social and civic competences, while promoting core values such as responsibility, commitment, sustainable development and openness to Europe.
