UG “Demos” is a youth-focused non-governmental organisation established in 2016 in Brčko District, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The organisation works primarily in the fields of education, culture, youth empowerment, civic engagement, and non-formal learning. Its mission is to support young people in becoming active, responsible citizens while contributing to the development of an inclusive and democratic society. Over the years, Demos has implemented numerous local and international projects addressing youth participation, education, culture, human rights, and community development. The organisation has also developed experience in volunteering programmes, particularly within the ESC, learned about volunteer coordination, mentoring, onboarding, safeguarding, crisis management, and administrative support. Demos is motivated to engage in volunteering because it views as a powerful tool for personal development, social inclusion, intercultural learning, and active citizenship. The organisation believes that volunteers and local communities learn from each other through shared experiences and cooperation. By hosting volunteers Demos promotes solidarity, diversity, and understanding while providing opportunities for young people to develop skills, confidence, and valuable experience. Through volunteering activities, the organisation contributes to stronger communities and encourages young people to become active promoters of European values, participation, and positive social change.
