The European Outdoor Portal - Europe for Inclusive Outdoor Policy and Environment (EIOPE) is a non-profit organisation based in Chavdar village, Bulgaria, dedicated to ensuring that everyone — especially people with fewer opportunities — can enjoy and benefit from the outdoors. Our mission is to promote accessible outdoor spaces and activities whilst caring for the environment through projects and policies development, research, innovations, and cross-border cooperation. We carry out our activities through a Center for Research and Innovation and an European Network. We work to advance inclusive environmental strategies by: - Developing and advocating for policies that improve universal access to natural and recreational areas; - Conducting research on access barriers for disadvantaged groups and publishing solutions to address them; - Providing training, tools, and educational programs supporting inclusive and sustainable land use; - Bringing together a European network of organisations, institutions, and experts to share good practices and build partnerships; - Supporting community initiatives that reconnect people with nature and promote environmental awareness. Our target groups include people with fewer opportunities facing all types of barriers. We collaborate with youth organisations, public authorities, schools, NGOs, and research bodies to ensure that inclusion, sustainability, and solidarity remain at the heart of Europe’s environmental future.
