"The education that moves us" EVS project

The associations CALA – Taller de Educación en Valores Alternativos (hosting organisation) and GAIA Alentejo (sending organisation) are looking for one Portuguese volunteer for an approved EVS project in Albuquerque, Spain, from 16th October 2017 until 15th August 2018 (10 months). A unique opportunity for young people seaking to develop competencences in the areas of education and alternative learning! The volunteer will support the development of Workshops on Education for Development, in the fields of community and youth, media for youth and immigrants, audiovisuals for critical awareness. S/he will be active in the local radio and will contribute to the weblog EVS 2.0 and EVS, The Movie. S/he will also support the activities in the Hostel and Nature Centre “Los Chozos”.

Personal motivations: Volunteers’ involvement in a transforming educational project and interest in education. Survival level in Spanish: The project is located in a rural area where people don’t generally speak foreign languages. Interest in working with people: Working with people is essential to our work. We value creative, enterprising, self-motivated people. Contact with associations in the country of origin: Taking active part in social movements, preferably with similar objectives and topics to ours, and doing their bit to advance towards a more democratic, non-violent, fair society.
