We are looking for somebody who is not afraid to get dirty hands… For this particular EVS position, we are looking for a person whose primary activity will be working in our bicycle repairing facility Recykel. The main task is to manage the workshop and develop activities related to biking and sustainable transport issues (organizing events and workshops, stock management, renting/selling bikes, communication, etc.). In a team with 2 Slovak technicians, the volunteer could also help repairing, designing and building bikes. Besides that s/he will be part of the team of 5 EVS volunteers and involved in the processes related to everyday operation of our independent cultural venue Stanica. They sell tickets before the events, they distribute posters, prepare guest room or catering for artists, help us at the café, the communication, the garden, etc.. Other activities depends on mutual discussion and on the individual preferences, background and profile of the volunteer.

We have two flats for the volunteers so you will live in a two room or three room flat and every volunteer has his own room. The flat is located in the broad center of Žilina, 85-thousand town located not far from mountains. This town is suitable for walking/biking, mass transportation not needed. There are good connexions with the rest of Slovakia, Czech republic and Poland. Each volunteer gets 300 eur monthly for food and pocket money. They can cook at their flat, the kitchen is fully equipped. They have Slovak lesson and the travelling costs are covered fully.
Koulutus hankkeen aikana
It is necessary that the bikes and cycling is volunteer's passion in a way that s/he wants to spread and support the idea of ecological, healthy, quick and cheap way how to move within a city. Previous experience with bike fixing is very welcome but not completely necessary. The will to learn new things and help with ongoing activities is obligatory. The volunteer will be working with staff members of Stanica organization that has skills in various areas of work, connected to independent culture venue. It will be an valuable experience when s/he continues working in this field.
