Alce Nero volunteering with kids

Descrizione del progetto

The project, in Mantova, deals children from 6 to 13 years old and their leisure time and in the center the educators organise acitivities to entertain the children and to create moments if inclusion and integration within the users. The volunteer will be progressively given an overall view of the whole range of activities of the centre, and introduced to people involved, staff and users. After a first period of adaptation, the volunteer will be assigned specific tasks in the already planned activities of the CAG. Afternoon activities are run from Monday to Friday from 14:30 pm to 18:30 pm and two morning of planning, and include: homework support, workshops, sports, excursions and in the summer the activities are expanded also in the morning to support the organisation of the summercamp. The volunteer’s role consists in supporting the educators at the CAG, helping them in the activities, to collaborate organizing the activities, to partecipate to the equipe.

Alloggio, vitto e trasporto

The volunteer will be hosted in a flat settled in Mantova with 2 large bedrooms, a kitchen and living room and a bathroom with two shower. The flat will be shared with other volunteers. The volunteer can go to work on foot/by bus or bike to reach the office, while travel costs for free time will be on charge of the volunteer.

Candidates should: - Be flexible, extroverted and smart - Be interested and sensitive towards educational and social issues. - Have good familiarity with leisure time activities for with children and youngsters - Be open to work in team and able to command respect - Have previously experienced voluntary activities (better if in the field of non formal education). - Have a basic knowledge of italian language
