Spain is that place where tradition and fun merge in a unique way. Its beaches, sun and gastronomy make it a unique country. That's why we propose you to come to know the north, specifically the city of Santander, the place where the sea and the surf meet to make us enjoy a unique experience. The “Sports Day” is suitable for everyone, so it is not necessary to have previous experience, get ready to live an unforgettable day surfing the waves of El Sardinero beach!
There will also be games, kayaking, beach paddles, guided tours, music, traditional dances and enjoyment of local cuisine... numerous activities to make your DiscoverEU experience unsurpassed. Live and enjoy 4 days meeting people and living new experiences in a fun and healthy way in a unique natural environment.
What program have we organized for you?
Day 1 - September 17th
18:30 h. Arrival and welcome of participants. Introductions and team dynamics. We will start with a group dynamic where you will be able to meet and interact with young European people. 18:30 h. Introductions and team dynamics. We will start with a spectacular group dynamic where you will be able to interact with young Spanish people. 21:30 h. Traditional youth dinner - need to regain strength? You will have a great dinner to get ready for the next day.
Day 2 - September 18th
10:00 h. “Sports Day” activity where you will enjoy a healthy lifestyle and beach sports. Do you love surfing? Do you want to learn the sports local people play on the beach?
14:00 h. Lunch
16:00 h. Gymkhana through the city of Santander. Are you concerned about the environment and sustainability? Santander will give you the opportunity to connect with a sustainable future through a fantastic gymkhana where you will get to know the different parts of the city in connection with the Sustainable Development Goals established in the 2030 Agenda approved by the UN.
17:00 h. Do you like boats? Yes? That´s good because you will have a boat ride through the Santander bay. You will be able to enjoy the amazing landscapes and learn about ocean life.
20:00 h. Walk through the city
21:30 h. Youth dinner “DJ and food”
Day 3 - September 19th
09:30h. You will go to Ampuero to do a little bit of canoeing (kayak), descending the river to Colindres
12:00 h. Arrival at Colindres and visit to the fish market and various places so you will learn more about the fishing culture and tradition
14:00 h. Lunch
16:30 h. Guided tour through Colindres to get to know the cultural heritage of the city. You will visit one of the first shipyards in Spain (Falgote Shipyards) built in……1475! After that there will be a talk about youth mobility in Europe at the Youth House of Colindres
19:30 h. Return to Santander
20:30h. Evaluation
21:30 h. Long day? Wait because there is more! We will have dinner and learn about typical local dances
Day 4 - September 20th
Breakfast will be provided so you are ready to continue your adventure with DiscoverEU.
