MeetUp in Parma, The Art and Safety of Food

Join this three-day MeetUp in Parma, the ancient capital of the duchy of Parma and Piacenza (1545-1859), the city has been a university seat since the 11th century and, since 2004, it has been the headquarters of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
Located in Northern Italy, in the western part of Emilia, between the Apennines and the Po Valley, the city is divided in two by the Parma stream. You will be visiting its centre, full of artistic masterpieces, spacious green areas, small and large treasures from different eras, welcomes visitors in a refined atmosphere of a small capital. The presence of music in the history of the city is varied and richly known, as well as being famous for Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini, the liveliness of initiative and collective passion rightfully assign it an important place among the capitals of music.
Not to be underestimated is its gastronomic tradition which offers, in addition to world-famous cured meats and cheeses, also excellent fresh pasta first courses. In fact, Parma was named UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2015.
You'll have a chance to taste these foods, as well as to know more what the European Union is doing to guarantee safety in the food chain from farm to fork.
