Regional Meet Up - Balkan Connection: İstanbul

Istanbul is the perfect destination for your DiscoverEU journey. A city where continents meet, Istanbul offers a breathtaking mix of history, culture, and vibrant energy. Wander through its iconic streets, connect with fellow travellers, and immerse yourself in the flavors and rhythms of this timeless metropolis.

What to expect?

In a special twist, Serbia, North Macedonia, Türkiye, and Bulgaria will be holding connected meet-ups, with a joint activity that highlights stunning natural landscapes, historical monuments, and cultural landmarks. Whether in Belgrade, Skopje, Sofia/Plovdiv or Istanbul, you will dive into the heart of these countries most iconic sights, from breathtaking mountain hikes to ancient ruins and beautiful historical landmarks. Along the way, you will explore the histories of some of the region's most influential and fascinating figures, learning about their impact on culture and history. At the same time, you will have the chance to connect with fellow travellers from across Europe, sharing experiences and making lasting memories together. This is your chance to discover new cultures and experience the Balkans like never before! 

And since exploring Istanbul is best enjoyed with a mix of adventure and relaxation, we have planned an exciting Bosphorus cruise! Get ready to sail between two continents, taking in breathtaking views of palaces, mosques, and the lively waterfront.

21st July, will be full arrival day with welcome activities after the dinner & 24th will be full departure day without any activity planned. 

The costs? 

FREE! We will cover your accommodation (in single rooms, three nights), meals and transportation during the event.

We will not provide traveling to İstanbul and from İstanbul to your next destination.

When applying for this amazing meet-up, travellers with a DiscoverEU pass for 2024 and 2025 will have a small advantage! Plus, we will give priority to those who have not had the chance yet to travel with DiscoverEU, so this could be a perfect opportunity for you!

After the registration deadline, selected participants will receive a detailed event agenda.
