Emma Brownrigg Fenech, a young activist and former participant of the Pool of Young Journalists in Europe, shares her personal journey into participation and explains how EU-funded opportunities helped her develop specific skills, gain confidence and make her voice heard at the European level.

Emma also addresses some of the most common barriers to participation, such as lack of information, disinformation, particularly on social media, and the perception that politics is distant or too complex. These challenges can discourage young people from getting involved, even when opportunities are available.
