The e-learning for Humanitarian aid volunteering is now open!

In order to participate in Humanitarian aid volunteering, interested young people registered for the European Solidarity Corps need to complete a specific training on EU Academy before they can be selected by an organisation.
Volunteering in Humanitarian aid is open to all young people who:
- registered for the European Solidarity Corps programme,
- indicated in their European Solidarity Corps profile their interest to take part in Humanitarian aid volunteering,
- are not older than 35 years old,
- and reside in an EU Member State or a country associated to the programme (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Republic of North Macedonia, Türkiye).
Humanitarian aid volunteers carry out different tasks needed to support the activities undertaken by their host organisations in far-away countries, for instance : strengthening the local capacity and resilience of disaster-affected vulnerable communities, such as refugees or internally displaced people, supporting the WASH (water, sanitation and health) sector, the agri-food sector, the integration of young people with fewer opportunities in local communities and more generally the fight against all kinds of discrimination.
In order to be selected for volunteering in Humanitarian aid, candidates will first need to complete a compulsory training course that will be delivered online on the EU Academy platform, and then, for those who pass the test, take part during 5 days in a face-to face training in groups of around 25 candidates.
The online training courses on EU Academy are accessible via the “Online training” tab in your European Solidarity Corps account. Please make sure that you select the option “Humanitarian aid training” (not General Online Training). Once on the EU academy platform, you will first be invited to make a self-assessment, and then, if you decide to continue your journey, you will start the compulsory training for Humanitarian aid volunteering.
If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference, experience a new culture, broaden your horizons, and support people in need, while advancing your skills, don’t wait any longer and start the training for the Humanitarian aid volunteering. The number of places is limited: only 1,000 candidates will be trained in 2023.
