Meet the new Pool of Young Journalists in Europe!

Selected from different EU countries, the new Pool of Young Journalists in Europe (2024 edition) came to Brussels for their first meeting, held on 11-15 February.

Our 11 talented young journalists have met in Brussels to meet each other, further develop their writing skills, build a hands-on experience on the work of the European Commission, and brainstorm ideas for the articles they will publish on the European Youth Portal. 

On 12 February, while visiting the European Commission and the European Parliament, they were absorbed into the world of institutional communication. As part of the agenda, they attended the Commission's Midday press briefing.

The Pool of Young Journalists in Europe was first created in the frame of the European Year of Youth (EYY). The current cohort is already its 3rd edition.

The young journalists are now ready to kick-off their work – creating podcasts, writing articles, and producing videos. They are motivated to develop their writing skills and to correctly address youth in Europe with catchy texts. Keep an eye on our Portal to follow their work during the upcoming months.
