Walking 12.000 km for Climate Change - Meet Jaydip, the Climate Walker

How far would you go to fight for a cause you believe in? Actually, how far would you walk? Meet Jaydip Lakhankiya, the 25-year-old climate activist who, starting this January, will walk 12.000 km from Malta to his home country of India to raise awareness for Climate Change, through interviews, school visits, and collaborations with local environmental NGOs and activists.

“Climate change is an issue that already affects millions, and soon it will affect all of us if we don't act quickly”, says Jaydip. After travelling from India’s northernmost to its southernmost point in only 182 days and learning more about how Climate Change affects communities, he decided to embark on a journey like few others, for his message to reach as many people as possible. That message is no other than the fact that humans not only cause climate change but also have time to reverse the damage already done.

In this interview, we go over Jaydip’s already adventurous life, how he ended up in Malta, where he is studying at the moment, and his 12.000km, 20-country walk that requires meticulous planning, budgeting and networking. Don't miss it!
