Young people and transport jobs: making transport careers more attractive
Päivitetty viimeksi Tiistai, 15/07/2025
The European Commission will organise a conference on ‘Young people and transport jobs: making transport careers more attractive’ on Wednesday, 15 October 2025, in Brussels. It will bring together young people and representatives from the transport sector from across the European Union (EU).
Together, we want to explore how to make transport jobs more attractive to young people, more inclusive, and future oriented. It is a unique opportunity for young people to exchange their ideas directly with transport companies about their career aspirations, challenges, and expectations in the sector (road transport, urban public transport, rail transport, maritime transport and ports, inland waterways, and air transport). We will also identify what works well in making transport careers more attractive for young people.
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) invites young people aged 18 to 30 who live in the EU to apply to participate in the conference.
What can you expect?
The programme includes small group sessions and interactive activities focused on jobs and careers in transport – from skills and working conditions to career visibility and job satisfaction. Together, we will reflect on what makes transport careers appealing to young people and how the sector must adapt to the expectations of the future workforce.
Who will attend?
- Young participants from across the EU
- Human resources managers and recruiters from transport companies
- High-level representatives from the European Commission responsible for Mobility and Transport
Interested in participating?
Apply via the application form available here by 15 August 2025.
Spaces are limited, and we seek to have a balanced participation in terms of EU Member States and gender.
You will hear from us by 5 September 2025.
