AS Hoolekandeteenused is a state-owned enterprise and the main area of activity of the organization is providing social welfare services to adults with special mental needs, substitute home and childcare service to children with special mental needs and care services to elderly people. Several of our homes have a long and dignified history, for decades they have rendered services to people with special mental and physical needs and helped them to cope with their life better. ESC volunteering is very good opportunity and a big challenge for young person to learn something about Estonia and its culture, language and also about him/herself. Vääna-Viti Home is giving care to adults living with mental and physical disabilities. 2 volunteering positions are available. Service will last from September 2025 until August 2026 (12 months). Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will stay at the university dorm or shared apartment with other volunteers. There is also possibility to change the accommodation if the dorm solution is not suitable for some reason. Volunteers will receive monthly food and pocket money. All work related transport will be covered by the programme.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will receive work related trainings if it is necessary. All special techniques used with the target group will also be taught to the volunteers if they are interested in learning. Erasmus+ and ESC Agency in Estonia will organize on-arrival and mid-term trainings for volunteers.

Participant profile

We expect that the volunteer is committed to the project, is independent and active, positive, openminded, flexible and willing to learn. Also active to support our clients in everyday activities – working activities, hobbies and also to be ready to give suggestions to improvement of our service. Some experience in work with people with special needs would be an advantage. Positive way of life – friendliness and sociability are the characteristics that describe a successful volunteer candidate. We also expect the candidate to be reliable, responsible and taking initiative.
