Stiftung Pro Gemeinsinn

Berlin, Germany

Description

“Pro Gemeinsinn” foundation is a non-profit association, focusing on early childhood education and after-school care, with currently 220 employees. The aim is to create a positive environment for children from 1 to 12 years for them to flourish, learn, enjoy and grow and to feel like important members of the society. We care for 92 children between 1 and 6 years in two houses. We work in mainly age-homogeneous groups. During walks and on our two playgrounds, the children play with each other mixed in age. It’s important to us, that the children in our care grow up with the language and culture of our neighboring countries. We practice the immersion method: during their day to day life the children hear both languages and additionally learn the languages naturally. Since Berlin is a melting pot of cultures, it is of highest importance to us, to work alongside young volunteers like you, to represent a divers and versatile Europe within our facilities.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will be reimbursed for the costs of a monthly public transport ticket and will have a room in a shared flat. The pocket money will be 7 Euro/day in monthly payments. He/she will receive food fee (333 Euro/month). Financial support to the travel costs from his/her place of origin to Germany and back depends on the distance travelled.
