Description

The National Gallery of Armenia was founded in 1921 by the decision of the Soviet Armenian Government. The National Gallery of Armenia is now the country’s major art gallery. Its collection is displayed in 56 halls, which allow the Gallery to tell the story of national visual arts, decorative-applied arts as well as world culture from ancient times to our days. The Gallery not only promotes Armenian and world famous art in the country, but also one of the main purposes of this organization is to protect and conserve art masterpieces. Art is a national treasure and heritage, which must protect for upcoming generations.Starting from 2016 National Gallery of Armenia is also a unique education center. The National Gallery of Armenia invites all children to participate in summer school programs. !! Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

During their voluntary service the volunteer will live in a hostel with other volunteers, probably sharing the room with a fellow volunteer. All facilities will be provided, he/she will be provided with a bed, sheets and linen. The volunteer will receive monthly payments for personal expenses.

Training during the activity

Support and training will be provided by the staff of the organization. Specialists and the staff will help the volunteer to integrate to the work and the activities organized by the project, gain more knowledge of the field and improve competences related to it. To give them linguistically tools, the volunteer will have two Armenian lessons per week during their whole service with an experienced tutor of Armenian as foreign language.

Participant profile

The volunteers should be interested in Art and in history of Art, in general history, in Museology, and also in public relations. The volunteers should like to learn new skills. The volunteers should be responsible, communicative and creative and ability to work in team. Good knowledge of English is important. !!
