Volunteer with us in Portugal! We are a unique creative hub located in a rural village, south of Portugal. We focus on the development of digital and environmental competencies for the local community. Buinho is known for being one of the few European Fablabs that host an Artist in Residency Program, and we also run a Precious Plastic workshop where we recycle and transform plastic waste. We are looking for someone who: - is dedicated to bringing creativity and innovation to rural communities by working with the Precious Plastic Recycling Center - is interested in participating in the Repair Cafes organized by Buinho - is inspired by the maker movement and loves to develop educational programs - is committed to working with a team of creatives for 6 months in rural South Portugal for more information about please visit our website - www.buinho.pt

Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte

We offer travel support, bikes, car access, accommodation, all bills, and a monthly fee of 330€ for food support. Formação durante a atividade

Our volunteers will have the opportunity to learn the following content: - Volunteer and participate in Buinho's Repair Cafe's; - Learn about plastic recycling procedures and how to use the precious plastic individual equipments; - Have the opportunity to work with local children and youth for the development of digital and environmental competencies; - How to create cultural community events, and develop educational activities based on the intersection of sustainability, art and technology;

Perfil do participante

We aim to receive motivated volunteers that understand the importance of bringing social cohesion and creativity into rural areas. We would also like to receive volunteers that want to contribute to innovative practices in the field of environmental protection and education. We are looking for volunteers that would like to work in a rural environment. We would love to be able to receive fellow makers with experience in working with fablabs and makerspaces, although this is not mandatory. We would also welcome volunteers with zero experience as our mission is to empower communities
