The Lithuanian Education Centre for the Blind and Visually Impaired (LASUC) is a specialized school catering to students with visual impairments and complex disabilities. The primary focus is on providing education to these students. The centre comprises a gymnasium and counselling department specifically designed for visually impaired children. LASUC's mission is to empower students of various ages to be creative, community-oriented, and prepared for independent living. Additionally, the centre offers educational support to promote inclusive education in schools nationwide. A volunteer will engage in various activities, including assisting students in improving their English skills, supporting them during educational trips, helping with after-school activities like robotics, initiating and developing educational activities aligned with their interests and helping with various activities for pre-schoolers (Do you play a musical instrument? As a volunteer in Vilnius, you will have the opportunity to be hosted in a comfortable flat alongside other like-minded volunteers who share your passion for community service. You will have your own private room, providing a space for rest and relaxation. These sessions provide a safe and supportive environment to share your experiences, learn from one another, and grow both personally and professionally.
