The School Childcare Center in Braunschweig has six groups with approx. 110 children from first to the fourth grade who are cared for. In addition to lunch together, the care includes homework assistance and various other activities. Those activities include board games, making music and improving their computer skills. Furthermore, alternative rooms can be used for project work. A vacation program is developed jointly. The work groups and vacation programs are based on the wishes and needs of the children.
Apgyvendinimas, maitinimas ir transportas
The volunteers will be provided with a shared furnished apartment in Braunschweig. The apartment also has a kitchen in which the volunteers can prepare food for themselves. The volunteers will receive a meal allowance in the amount of 270 € per month as well as 150 € of pocket money per month. Moreover, either a local transport ticket or a bicycle will be provided to the volunteer.
Mokymas veiklos laikotarpiu
The volunteers are exempted to attend the ESC seminars. In addition, they take part in a language course to help them improve their language skills. The costs for the course are paid by the host organization Paritätischer Braunschweig. Permanent contact persons in the institution are available to the volunteers. Furthermore there are cross-institutional mentors and the opportunity to participate in internal training for volunteers. Regular exchange meetings and participation in the youth-pass enable documentation of learning progress.
Dalyvio profilis
It would be helpful if you spoke German at least at a basic level and had experience or a degree in social care. You should be interested in contributing your own skills and ideas to project and vacation program. For the assignment as a volunteer it is necessary that you can show a European certificate of good conduct as well as a certificate of vaccination against Covid-19 and measles. We need those documents at the latest at the beginning of your activity.
