In Tunisia, the projects of Médecins du Monde-Belgium are aimed at all people who have no or no longer access to health care. We carry out projects on migration rights & health, risk reduction and sexual & reproductive rights and health, Mental Health & Psychosocial Support, and recently on environmental health with a One Health approach. The Advocacy vol. will support the mission programme in the implementation of advocacy activities previously defined by the projects and will contribute to the reflection on new advocacy actions & activities. The main tasks are the following: Implementation and monitoring of the mission's advocacy action plan. / Creation and dissemination of tools and guidelines. / Thematic and political monitoring of the target area and theme. (Identification/mapping of actors and interlocutors. / Support on development and review of the coherence of key messages, construction of arguments, review of MdM presentations. / Drafting of activity reports and policy briefs

The social climate on the Tunisia mission is very conducive to the integration of new members. In Tunis there is a good general atmosphere, and the risk of security incidents is very low. Accommodation for the volunteers will be provided by MdMBE, as well as the management of the security of the buildings (guards). MdMBE will do its utmost to provide volunteers with good housing conditions. Volunteers will receive monthly per diems in local currency equivalent to 345 € to cover their meals and other expenses.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will improve their professional knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security, gender, psychosocial support... and will be provided with training resources to continue their learning. Those selected will receive briefings/training at MdM headquarters in Brussels with the different departments related to the mission and the position, as well as mandatory online training on environmental issues before they start their field work. Training sessions will take place both in the countries of the supporting organisations and in of the host organisations

Participant profile

Competencies required: Bachelor's degree in Humanitarian Studies or Political Science, Human Sciences in general. / 2 years' experience in project management including advocacy. / Writing and formatting notes, documents and/or reports relating to his/her field of expertise. / Develop, adapt and formalise tools related to his/her field of activity. / Create and develop a network. / Fluency in the language of coordination (French, English and ideally Arabic).
