Art'Impact

Comité UFCV de la Loire

Comité Ufcv de la Loire

Saint-Etienne, France

Description

Art is a powerful form of expression. This project aims to enable young people to express themselves on key societal issues—particularly sustainable development—through various artistic practices. Throughout the year, they will explore different art forms while reflecting on the environment, equality, and anti-discrimination. Through workshops and discussions, a core group will create artwork to be exhibited in the village. One-off sessions will also raise awareness among other groups, including children from the leisure center, daycare, early childhood support (RPE), after-school programs, and local associations. To extend its impact, the project will partner with local organizations, adapting the final presentation to the proposals and capabilities of everyone involved. Led by the leisure center, the volunteer will support all stages of the project, including sharing it with children and teens on Wednesdays and during school holidays.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will share the flat with another volunteer and she/he will have his own room. The flat is in Saint-Etienne. It is equipped with a fridge, a gas stove, a washing machine, a microwave. The money will be given at the beginning of each month for the purchase of food in addition of pocket money. And he will have an unlimited transit pass to move in Saint-Etienne. The activity is bases in a village nearby.

Training during the activity

During the first months, the volunteer will have French class. The volunteer will participate to the on-arrival and midterm training organized by National Agency. All project long, the volunteer will participate to different trainings, as SDG's training, as Education for Citizenship and International Solidarity's training.

Participant profile

Our project is voluntarily generally so that the volunteer can appropriate it, adapt it to its own person, bring its ideas and flourish fully. It is crucial that the volunteer is interested in working with children and adolescents, but also through teamwork. The volunteer will be a period in immersion in center of recreation with a team of professional animators and will have to participate or even to animate a group of children. He/she must be open-minded and adaptable. Please, send your application to sve@ufcv-loire.fr (CV and cover letter)
