Description
Unique European Solidarity Corps opportunity in the Netherlands: Assisting teacher in craftmanship, sports, culture and/or sustainability at primary school in the Netherlands. At the primary school 120 children of 4-12 years old. It has a “taalklas”. It is a multicultural school with immigrants (refugees) from for example Syria, Ukraine. As Dutch is a challenge for those children, they have a special language class to learn Dutch and other education to catch up with the Dutch children. Therefore, extra attention is needed. Also, attention is given to the structuring of the thinking steps that children make, and the promotion of a reflective, research-oriented attitude. Challenges are offered to the children, so that they are actively involved in their own learning process and thus also directed towards their own development. Pillars of the school are culture, like music and dance, and sports. Their core values are trust, responsibility, discover, creativity and cooperation
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will receive pocket money and food allowance. You will be part of ESC volunteers and will have your own room. Bicycle will be available.
Training during the activity
The ESC volunteer will receive an on-arrival workshop and mid-term workshop. Dutch lessons are provided.
Participant profile
Open-minded, independent, social, energetic and creative youngsters who have affinity with children and are interested in music, acting, dance and craftmanship. Furthermore, he or she likes to organize and plan events and teach children. The volunteer has the aim to learn the dutch language.
