Jugendbildungs- und Begegnungsstätte Hirschluch

Περιγραφή

The youth training and community centre Hirschluch is part of JuSeV (coordinating organisation) within the department of non-formal education and international cooperation. Located in Storkow, 60 km southeast of Berlin, around 30 staff work in administration, kitchen, housekeeping and pedagogy. We mainly host young people from Brandenburg, as well as guests from Berlin and beyond. Hirschluch is both workplace and learning space. Volunteers gain practical experience in daily operations, educational projects and community life. Tasks include supporting pedagogical activities, workshops and events, as well as helping in kitchen, housekeeping or grounds when needed. Volunteers also design and implement their own sustainability project. Working time: 5 days/week, 7 hours/day. Extra hours during events are compensated with time off. Vacation follows ESC regulations.

Διαμονή, διατροφή και έξοδα μετακίνησης

The volunteer will be accommodated in a single room near our educational center (bathroom and kitchen shared with another volunteer). The rent will be covered by the hosting organisation. The volunteer will receive a food allowance of approximately 285.00 € and pocket money of approximately 180.00 € per month and is expected to cook independently. Storkow is located about 60 km from Berlin. There is a train connection to Berlin running approximately every hour, with a total travel time of about 1.5 to 2 hours. The hosting organisation also covers the costs of Deutschland Ticket.

Κατάρτιση κατά τη δραστηριότητα

Volunteers are required to participate in two seminars, namely the on-arrival and mid-term seminars. These seminars are organized by the German National Agency and are essential for the volunteers' experience and development. Additionally, as part of the program, volunteers will also be enrolled in a 4-week German course in Berlin. Furthermore, volunteers will have the opportunity to take part in international youth projects in which our center is a partner. These projects will be hosted either in Storkow or in another partner country.

Προφίλ συμμετέχοντος

Volunteers will be selected on the basis of the applications received (motivation letter and CV). Please send you CV and ML to volunteering@jusev.de. Criteria for the volunteering are: very good command of English or very good command of German,openness and flexibility, communication skills, responsibility, reliability, fun to work with people and previous social engagement in their home country. Experience in working with people, manual skills, environmental awareness / nature protection, spiritual consciousness as well as basic knowledge of the German language is an advantage but not compulsory. Gender, nationality, religion and degrees or certificates are irrelevant.
